OSRS Summer Sweep-Up 2026: all gear and PvM changes explained

The July 22, 2026 Summer Sweep-Up delivered the first batch of gear and PvM changes for the year. Key weapon buffs include the Sanguinesti Staff (heal chance 1/6 → 1/5, +1 max hit, 2 blood runes per cast), Soulreaper Axe (+4 Strength, no HP drain, 50-tick stack decay), Ghrazi Rapier and Blade of Saeldor (both +6 accuracy, +4 Strength), and the Inquisitor set (set bonuses now independent per piece, Mace +7 Strength, negative bonuses removed). PvM changes improved Gauntlet preparation (guaranteed demi-boss spawns, stackable resources, tighter speed times), Phantom Muspah form-swap delay, and Demonic Gorilla prayer-swap thresholds. The full list covers 15+ individual gear changes and 10+ PvM adjustments.

Key takeaways

  • Sanguinesti Staff: heal chance improved to 1/5, max hit +1, charge cost reduced to 2 blood runes per cast.
  • Soulreaper Axe: +4 Strength, HP drain removed, stack decay starts at 50 ticks (up from 20).
  • Inquisitor set: Crush bonuses are now per-piece independent; Mace +7 Strength and +7 Crush accuracy; negative Stab/Slash bonuses removed.
  • Gauntlet prep: guaranteed demi-boss spawns, stackable resources, speed-chaser tightened to 4:45.

Weapon stat changes that affect DPS directly

The Summer Sweep-Up rebalanced several weapons that see regular use in PvM. The Sanguinesti Staff received the most impactful change: its heal chance increased from 1/6 to 1/5, the base max hit increased by 1, and the charge cost dropped from 3 blood runes to 2 per cast. The +8 extra damage on a heal proc and the +1.6 average damage per cast from the heal change mean the staff now competes more closely with the Tumeken's Shadow in sustained encounters where healing matters.

The Soulreaper Axe gained +4 Strength bonus, bringing its total to a competitive threshold. Its stack decay now starts at 50 ticks instead of 20, giving a much longer window between stacks. The HP drain was removed entirely, which changes the opportunity cost of maintaining five stacks. The special attack accuracy per stack increased to 12% (60% at max stacks) and now gains 6% minimum hit per stack (30% at max). The special attack animation was also updated.

The Ghrazi Rapier and Blade of Saeldor both received +6 accuracy and +4 Strength. These bring the slash and stab one-handed weapons closer to the power curve of newer content. The Master Wand gained +10% Magic Damage bonus, and all Ancient Sceptre variants went from +5% to +10% Magic Damage. Pegasian Boots added +1 Ranged Strength, which is a small but permanent boost to any ranged setup that uses them.

Inquisitor set: Crush bonuses become independent

The Inquisitor set received a structural rework. Previously, the set's Crush damage and accuracy bonuses required the full set to activate. Now each piece provides its bonus independently. The Great Helm gained +2 Crush accuracy, +2 Strength and +0.5% Crush damage and accuracy. The Hauberk went from +0.5% to +1% Crush damage and accuracy per piece, plus +4 Crush accuracy. The Plateskirt increased from +0.5% to +1% Crush damage and accuracy.

The Inquisitor Mace received the largest individual buff: +7 Strength and +7 Crush accuracy. This guarantees at least one max hit in most setups and may add up to +2 max hits depending on your gear. All negative Stab and Slash bonuses were removed from the armour pieces, meaning the set no longer penalises you for switching attack styles. The Tonalztics of Ralos also received a buff: its special attack now reduces Defence by 12.5% of Magic level per hit (up from 10%) and grants +50% increased accuracy.

The Rosewood Blowpipe can now fire darts up to rune tier. Its special attack no longer grants +10% damage and -20% accuracy — a rebalance that makes the standard attack pattern more relevant. The Burning Claws special attack energy cost increased to 35% from 30%. The Aquanite Hopper's second-hit accuracy penalty was halved, and Belle's Folly drop rate increased from 1/256 to 1/75.

  • Inquisitor set bonuses are now per-piece, not set-dependent.
  • Mace: +7 Strength, +7 Crush accuracy — can add up to +2 max hits.
  • Negative Stab/Slash removed from all Inquisitor armour pieces.
  • Tonalztics of Ralos: +50% accuracy on special, 12.5% Defence reduction per hit.
  • Rosewood Blowpipe: fires rune darts, special attack no longer has -20% accuracy trade-off.
03

PvP-only adjustments

Two changes targeted PvP specifically. The Eclipse Atlatl now fires every 4 ticks on the Rapid attack style, unless the full Eclipse set is worn, in which case it reverts to 3 ticks. The Soulflame Horn's accuracy boost for special attacks was reduced from +100% to +50%. Both changes narrow the gap between PvP-specific gear and standard PvM equipment.

04

Gauntlet and general PvM changes

The Gauntlet received a substantial preparation quality-of-life pass. Demi-bosses are now guaranteed to spawn in one of the north, east, south or west rooms from the centre. Their attack range was reduced from 16 to 10 tiles. Non-demi-boss enemies now have standardised defensive stats. Weapon frames are guaranteed from the first low-tier NPC kill. Phren Bark, Crystal Ore and Linum Tirinum are now stackable. Crystal Shards are auto-placed in the inventory, and the drop quantity range was reduced.

Crystal Shard costs were adjusted: T1 weapon costs 0 (free), T2 weapon 50, T1 armour piece 50, T2 body 100, T2 legs/helm 50, and T3 armour piece 100. Speed times tightened: Gauntlet Speed-chaser is now 4:45 (was 5:00), Speed-runner 3:45 (was 4:00). Corrupted Speed-chaser is 7:05 (was 7:30), Speed-runner 6:05 (was 6:30).

Other PvM changes: Phantom Muspah will not swap forms until 4 hitsplats are dealt (including zeros), and Homing Spikes duration was reduced to 34 ticks from 50. Demonic Gorillas no longer swap prayers until 4 hits and 70 damage are dealt with a single style. Skotizo's destroyed totems respawn after 1 minute and the arena size was reduced. Ice Demon's demonbane vulnerability increased to 115% from 100%. The Wardens in Tombs of Amascut are no longer immune to Sanguinesti Staff or Amulet of Blood Fury life leech. Autocast settings are now preserved through death, and gravestone looting auto-sorts inventory to match the pre-death layout.

  • Gauntlet: guaranteed demi-boss spawns, stackable resources, adjusted Shard costs.
  • Speed times: Gauntlet Speed-chaser 4:45, Corrupted Speed-chaser 7:05.
  • Phantom Muspah: 4 hitsplats required before form swap.
  • Demonic Gorillas: 4 hits and 70 damage before prayer swap.
  • Skotizo: totems respawn in 1 minute, arena smaller.
  • Wardens: no longer immune to Sanguinesti Staff / Blood Fury leech.

Other adjustments and corrections

The Blood Moon Rises received minor tweaks: engorged bloodwood trees occasionally require extra interaction, white tendrils were fixed, the Dragon Axe (or) is now recognised, and pet drop rates are shared (1/969,283 per chop, 1/319,283 for engorged trees). Leagues VI reward tweaks reduced the cost of Twisted Vision and Oath Breaker to 200 Slayer points (refund of 800 points), and the Demonic Pacts outfit is now displayable in the Player-Owned House. Ironwood hull parts are now craftable at 75 Construction. The Venator Bow change mentioned in the original post was an error and was not applied. CoX loot weightings remain a future proposal, not a live change.
