Katerena's PvP Bootcamp Grand Finale: the Battle Royale rules for September 26, 2026

The Katerena PvP Bootcamp Grand Finale runs on Saturday, 26 September 2026 at 19:00 UTC, streamed on twitch.tv/Katerena. It is an OSRS Battle Royale: duo teams, each pairing one recruit with one experienced coach, starting with nothing and building themselves up. For the first 15 minutes teleporting is disabled, so teams run or sail to cross the world. PvP is locked until the 30-minute mark, giving teams a safe window to gather weapons, armour, food and supplies. After 60 minutes the playable area starts shrinking, pushing surviving teams together until there is nowhere left to run.

Key takeaways

  • The grand finale is Saturday, 26 September 2026 at 19:00 UTC on twitch.tv/Katerena.
  • Format is a duo Battle Royale: one recruit plus one coach per team, starting with nothing.
  • First 15 minutes: teleporting disabled, teams must run or sail to traverse the world.
  • PvP is disabled until the 30-minute mark, then enabled for the remainder of the match.
  • After 60 minutes the playable zone shrinks, forcing surviving teams into close contact.

What the grand finale is

The PvP Bootcamp is a six-week community event created by Katerena, running from 16 August to 26 September 2026, in which ten content creators learn PvP fundamentals from some of the most experienced PKers in the game. The grand finale is the closing event of that run: the final showdown on 26 September, where the recruits team up with their coaches for one last challenge.

The format is a Battle Royale. Teams start with nothing, build themselves up, survive and be the last team standing. It is designed to test whether the recruits can apply six weeks of training under real pressure rather than in a controlled practice world.

02

How the duo teams work

The finale features duo teams, each made up of one recruit and one experienced coach. After weeks of training the recruits have to put everything they have learned to the test as they fight to survive alongside their coaches. From that point on, they are on their own in the sense that the training period has ended and the match is genuinely a match.

The recruiting pool is the same as for the rest of the Bootcamp: EllieDD, Jessy, Potatohime, Eltk, ItsIvy, Jillyfish, BunnyBop, Poco, Megan and Vallie. Katerena's stated goal for the programme is to make PvP more accessible for the average player, and the finale is the clearest possible test of whether that goal has been met.

  • Ten recruits: EllieDD, Jessy, Potatohime, Eltk, ItsIvy, Jillyfish, BunnyBop, Poco, Megan, Vallie
  • Each recruit is paired with an experienced coach from the Bootcamp coaching roster
  • Two people per team, no larger squads
  • Teams start from a chosen starting location, with no equipment

The Battle Royale rule timeline

The rules are structured as a phased timeline. Teams choose from a list of starting locations at the beginning. For the first 15 minutes, teleporting is not allowed, which forces teams to run or sail to traverse the world. This turns the opening phase into a positioning contest rather than a gear contest.

Until the 30-minute mark, PvP is not allowed. Teams have to race to gather weapons, armour, food and supplies while it is safe to do so. Once the timer hits 30 minutes, PvP is enabled from that point onwards, meaning teams can attack anyone they encounter for the remainder of the match.

After 60 minutes, the playable area begins to shrink, forcing remaining teams closer and closer together until there is nowhere left to run. As the battlefield gets smaller and the surviving players are pushed toward one another, every decision becomes the difference between death and victory.

  • 0:00, teams pick a starting location from the list
  • 0:00 to 0:15, teleporting disabled, run or sail to move
  • 0:00 to 0:30, PvP disabled, gather weapons, armour, food and supplies
  • 0:30 onwards, PvP enabled, attack anyone encountered
  • 0:60 onwards, playable area shrinks until there is nowhere left to run

What the finale is meant to prove

Katerena has been planning this event for years, inspired by events like Deadman Mode, with the goal of proving that anyone can learn PvP with the right mentality and training. The Bootcamp is structured so the recruits are never simply thrown into the Wilderness. Each week focuses on a different PvP fundamental, from freeze logging and walking under opponents to tanking, prayer switching, spec timings, useful plugins and tick eating.

The finale is the culmination of that structure. A Battle Royale with a no-teleport opening, a safe-gathering window and a shrinking zone is exactly the kind of environment where fundamentals compound. The format punishes players who only learned how to fight in one situation and rewards players who built a general PvP toolkit.

How to watch the grand finale

Katerena streams every Bootcamp session live on her Twitch channel, and the grand finale is no exception. Twitch is the primary viewing channel, and many of the ten recruits plus the coaches also stream their own perspectives, giving viewers multiple angles on the same match.

Katerena is also on Kick and YouTube, and highlights from the whole event are uploaded to her YouTube channel. The dedicated Bootcamp world is open from 13 August to 28 September, so the week after the finale is still available for anyone who wants to practice the same kind of open-world PvP that the recruits are being tested on.

  • Twitch, twitch.tv/Katerena, primary stream
  • Recruits and coaches stream their own perspectives on Twitch, Kick and YouTube
  • Highlights uploaded to Katerena's YouTube channel after each session
  • Dedicated Bootcamp world available 13 August to 28 September 2026
